Terms of Sale
Before I sell photos in Daguerreotype cases (wood and/or leather), I will often make repairs to the case (including the replacement or repair of the inner/outer hinges) using the same type of materials that were used by the original manufacturer. The purpose of the enclosure case was to protect the photograph, and the fact that we still find so many fine examples of these early photographs after all these years is a testament to the quality of the cases. It is always my goal to maintain the historic quality of a case, whenever possible. My repairs and/or restorations are only intended to increase the life of the case so that it may continue to do the job for which it was originally designed - providing safe storage for these wonderful pieces of photographic art.
