This is a very clean 6th plate ambrotype photograph of a young man wearing wire rimmed glasses.  There is provenance with the photograph that indicates the photograph was taken around 1859.  Behind the photograph, written in pencil is "Francis W. Trenton and Maria M. Patterson were engaged on the 9th day of September in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred fifty seven and were married on the 23rd day of August at 8 o'clock in the eve in the year A. D. 1859".  The image has a clean mat and preserver and still has the original paper seals with a black (painted) backer for contrast.  It comes in a full working case with a purple velvet trim piece.
